THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN TOUR GUIDE AND TOURIST
IN MONAS


Mia        : “Hello, sir. Iam Mia. I’m your tour guide. Is it your first time at National Monument?”
Tourist   : “Oh, hi Mia. Yes, it is my first time. Let’s begin.”
Mia         : “OK. By the way, if you have any questions while we\re going along, please don’t doubt to ask me.”
Tourist   : “I have a questin actually.”
Mia        : “Sure. What’s that?”
Tourist   : “What’s the meaning of National Monument. I mean that Monas has a lot of history.
        So, what’s Monas built with that aim?”

Mia        : “Of couse, sir. The National Monument is as symbol the fight for Indonesia.
       Monas was built to remember the struggle for Indonesian Independence.”

Tourist   : “Oh, I see. Then, who first pioneered the construction of Monas?”
Mia      : “A people who pioneer Monas was the first president of Indonesia, namely,
      President Soekarno. Let’s come in to under part in Monas.”

Tourist   : “OK, come on.”
Mia       : “It’s  the national history museum in Monas. Here, we can learn more about history of
      national struggle. We can also see diorama which displays history of Indonesia.”

Tourist   : “How many dioramas are here?”

Mia      : “There are total of 51 dioramas. All dioramas display the scenes of Indonesian history
 from the beginning during the earliest days of prehistoric Indonesia until the New Order era of Suharto’s regime.”

Tourist  : “Oh, that’s very interesting. So, I can get more knowledge now from Monas.”
Mia        : “Yes, if you want to know more about Indonesia. Monas is the exact place.
         Let’s go to the hall of independence inside Monas.”

Tourist  : “Let’s go.”
Mia        : “This is the hall of independence. The hall contains various symbol of independence.”
Tourist  : “What’s kind of independence symbol that saved here?”
Mia       : “There are the original text of the proclamation of independence is stored in a glass  case inside the golden door, the map of Indonesia, and Merah Putih flag. We are also going to hear “Padamu Negeri” song plays folloed by a recording of Soekarno reading the text of the proclamation from the gate of independence.”
Tourist  : “Oh, my knowledge about Indonesia increase. Now, where are we going to go?”
Mia       : “We are going to go to the observation deck and flame of independence by elevator.”
Tourist  : “Wow, interesting view of Jakarta.”
Mia       : “Yes, you can enjoy the beautiful view of Jakarta from here. You can use telescope to
see the view of Jakarta closer. By the way, is there anything you want to ask me again?”

Tourist  : “It’s enough. I’ve known more about Indonesian history. Now, I want to enjoy the
        view here for few minutes. Thanks for your guide.”

Mia       : “Ok, sir. You’re welcome.”
